N-Ethylpentedrone (NEP, N-ethylnorpentedrone, α-ethylaminopentiophenone, α-EAPP, α-ethylaminovalerophenone) is a designer cathinone drug, class of substituted cathinones. This drug became known 5-7 years ago as a designer drug, a substitute for pentedrone and is its analog and has a similar structure, N-ethyl analog of pentedrone.
NEP is banned in Japan and is classified in Sweden as a hazardous substance not fit for human consumption, but it is not completely banned for chemical research and forensic tests.
