3-Methyl-PCPy (3-Me-PCPy) is a dissociative substance of the arylcyclohexylamine family, acting as a potent antagonist of NMDA receptors, as an inhibitor of the capture of all three monoamine neurotransmitters – serotonin, dopamine and norepinephrine. It acts as a high affinity ligand of sigma receptors, for the σ2 subtype, has a stimulating and dissociative effect, as shown by experiments on rodents.
This drug is a designer substance and its pharmacological and toxicological properties are not fully understood, it is intended for research and tests in specially equipped laboratories.
The legal status of this substance is not entirely clear and it may be allowed in many countries for research purposes, but this drug is banned in countries such as Germany, Great Britain, Australia, Japan, as a derivative of arylcyclohexylamine and a structural isomer of phencyclidine.
